Our Events

Have you ever thought what it must be like to row an Olympic class rowing boat, or ride a track bike on a banked velodrome?  Have you ever then wondered what it must be like to do this with a World or Olympic champion athlete coaching you as you go.  This is what we do at M2 and below are ‘typical’ events we can run for you, although everything can be as bespoke as you need it.

Rowing Events

Our Rowing Events are typically run at Dorney Lake near Windsor, which will be the venue for the rowing regatta during the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Dorney Lake is a fantastic venue as they have conference facilities in the boat house itself which can if need be accommodate up to 200 delegates.

Your event will start with an introduction from the athlete you have chosen.  They will introduce you to the basics of rowing but then look to get you out onto the water as quickly as possible.  Depending on numbers you’ll be rowing in either fours or eights.  Your athlete will then get you rowing out on the lake itself, and once everyone’s had the opportunity to experience that unique feeling when everyone is rowing in perfect time it’ll be time to start racing!  Depending on numbers on the day we’ll then have a mini regatta and find out who really is in the fastest boat!

Having spent a few hours on the water we then head back into the boat house, where you’ll get the opportunity to hear from a member of the GB Rowing Team to tell you about their unique story on what it takes to be an Olympic athlete, followed by the opportunity to do a Q&A session.

Cycling Events

Our Cycling Events are typically run at Newport Velodrome or Manchester Velodrome the home of British Cycling.

Both venues are fantastic as they also have conference facilities in the velodrome itself.

Your event will start with an introduction from the athlete you have chosen.  They will introduce you to the basics of track cycling but then look to get you out onto the track as quickly as possible.  Once on the track you’ll get c.2 hours track time which will culminate in the opportunity for everyone to do a one lap time trial or even a group race.

Having spent a few hours on the track we then head back into the conference centre, where you’ll get the opportunity to hear the likes of Rebecca Romero tell you about her unique story on what it takes to be an Olympic athlete, followed by the opportunity to do a Q&A session.
